You would need a gas block that will match the barrel of a 450 B and I don't recall that dimension. Can someone please enlighten us? I was interested in swapping that fake gas block on my 20" for a BUIS. So we need dimensions for both the 16" and 20".

O.D. for the barrel under the gas block on either barrel is .750 (thanks wildcatter.) I looked long and hard for a receiver height gas block to use a set of Troy Battlesights that I already had and came up short. I ended up milling off the top of a regular picatinny gas block and measuring, then milling a piece of extruded picatinny blank stock to size and using set screws/loctite to secure it. (This only worked for the fake gas block on my 20", since I cut into the gas tube area on the donor block.)

You may be better off to look into getting a quadrail to extend over a low profile gas block or just selling your receiver height Troy front sight and buying a gas block height sight to match your rear sight. I've considered both for my 16".

Take a look at the Advantage Guardian BUIS

I've been thinking long and hard about getting that myself.

Actually, I just "pulled the trigger" and ordered it from Midway.

Ill have to take some video once I figure out how to mount it on my Thumper.

Woops! My mistake. Been a while since I measured mine. I'll go back and edit my previous size so it doesn't trip anyone up.
