Yo, bro...I need to find some kind of 2"-3" rail mount that installs into the free float handguard vent hole like that...is that part available separately? Or, perhaps someone out there in the ether knows of a vent hole rail mount? :?:

Midway has one that mounts to Picatinny rails. Part # 191-788. Good for zero-40 yards. $110.00

Well, I knew what I meant..why didn't anybody else? Uhmmm...what I was actually asking about was a 2"-3" segment of picatinny rail that could be mounted in the handguard vent hole, similar to the rail section in the YouTube video... :?:

OK, I'm answering myself...is that a problem? Myself just said "no"...

I may have found the solution to my rail problem just above...Warne Scope Mounts makes their R.A.M.P. model ,in 1" and 30mm, that incorporates a nifty little 45-degree rail segment for a mini-red dot right next to and just below the ocular of the scope. That's what I was wanting to have the capability of mounting, originally on the handguard, but this R.A.M.P. mount looks like a cleaner answer.

I used the Falcon Industries 4" Universal Mounting Platform with adapter for 2" aluminum float tube:

Sorry, but I don"t see a 2" with the needed adapter.

Das OK...I'll research the sitchyashun. Thanks for the info! If I can get something close, I'm sure I can "engineer" it to make it work...however, it looks like the 4" universal mount will do exactly what I wanted. Ordering as we "speak"... :)

UPDATE 06/24/11: Worked great! I cut the 4" in half, refinished the cut end, and mounted 'er up. Holds a Burris mini red dot tube just right. Thanks again.
