10-4 BD, we don't need the higher speeds but then again, we aren't the socom/bewulf guys either, what we've got is more akin to a ZR-1 Corvette and why not use that power. In this case, increased speeds give us longer ranges and better hit probability at unknown ranges. Taking that thought, maybe a lighter cast type bullet might just be the over-all trick imagine a 225gr+- bullet at speeds in excess of 3000?? If it penetrates everything (Elephants to rabits ) in a straight line and on the way through causes untold tissue damage and does this at a minimum of 300yds, is this not the objective? Is this not an argument for something far lighter than 250gr??? A 225gr+- in a hard cast-gc or plated Flat point at 3000+- really intrigues me, because I am a moose hunter, even though I normally shoot whitetails, I want to do it all and for the first time in shooting/hunting history we've got a system that can deliver this and a group of great guys here that can sort it all out..
