New addition- XDm 45 acp 4.5 inch barrel

Postby cptrifeg2 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 10:33 pm

I had been looking at XDs and XDms for a while then all the madness happened. I wanted a full frame pistol with decent capacity before big brother tries to take away my mags or charge outrageous transfer fees. I searched local shops and didnt really see what I was after..then at 2 am last night I was cruising gun broker and found it for 650.00 buy out.

Springfield Armory XD(M) .45 ACP 13+1 Black XDM w/ Night sights custom grips and 3 13 round mags ( already have 2 more mags and the 3 round extensions making all 5 into 16 round mags.Owner fired a box and a half of ammo with it, spent 3 days with it as his carry weapon..then put it on the shelf as he thought it was too big :)

Here is what she looks like with better resolution without the upgrades-

I realize everybody has had or has a Glock or an XD but Im really excited as I havent owned a full frame pistol in almost a decade. I'm not selling it this time..once I take possession Ill hit the range and show you the results.

Looks like a great gun at a really good price, considering what it came with. Congrats!

I love my xd's! I carry the regular xd-45c for duty and an xds off duty! You are going to like it. Next on the list is the 5.25 competition 9mm!

Ive owned a G30 for about 10 years and fired well over 10,000 rounds through it. I love glocks, the XD(M) Series is kind of like a child of springfield and glock. Keeping all of the things each of us loves about glock but adding some xtras. Now some folks arent fans of tail safetys, I dont mind them. while I dont need a cocking indicator or chamber indicator they are nice features for training others. The stock beaver tail sights are pretty nice but this already has the tritiums. I also like crimson grips not just for this model but for any handgun. While I have done more point shooting than aimed in quick reaction drills, you can never go wrong with a laser for distance or for your spouse as a home protection gun. Considering that true point shooting with a weapon system is supposed to be 3500-4000 rounds so it becomes second nature..most folks dont have the budget or time to put that much lead down range for practice. The other selling point for this side arm is the stock barrel is match and comes ready to fire cast bullets out of the box. Not that I would ever void my warranty..../sarcasm.
