Coyote and Hog

Postby Silverrun5 » Sun Jan 19, 2014 10:20 am

ImageImage I had an interesting hunt a couple weeks ago. I went deer hunting and saw just about everything but a deer. I was sitting in my stand overlooking a 1ac foodplot when a small wild hog ran across the foodplot. It was really too small to waste a bullet on - so I let it run thinking its relatives couldn't be too far away. No other hogs came in , but about 5 min later a coyote came through apparently trailing the hog. I didn't think coyotes hunted hogs, but I guess they might. Anyway, the coyote and a factory Hornady 250SST had a meeting at around 75yds. The coyote did not like the outcome of the meeting. It turned him a complete flip and DRT. I still had a little daylight left so I stopped by another food plot on my way home. A group of hogs were doing their best interpretation of a roter tiller in my plot. Shoot the one looking at me at about 60 yds - DRT. Loaded it onto the back of my cart and went home. All around, it was an interesting evening. By the way, if you want to mount a coyote, don't shoot him with a 450BM! It was nasty!
