Disturbing news from an admin

Postby kottke_35 » Tue Oct 13, 2015 7:55 pm

Hello all. I've been pretty silent lately but earlier this evening, I received some troubling news that I think is important to pass along (with permission). Texassheepdawg notified me tonight by phone that he has been recently diagnosed with kidney cancer. Dawg reports that the prognosis is good and surgery is planned for early November. Don't expect any videos for a while from Dawg but rest assured, he won't be fully out of commission! Please keep Dawg and his family in your prayers. Dawg wishes for you all to hear it here first before it leaks from outside sources.

Feel free to pm if you want more info.

Thanks guys,
B.

My prayers are with you, I know all too well how hard the surgery, chemo and radiation are to endure, but keep the faith. My prognosis wasn't so good as it had metastasized into my lymph nodes (T3), that was in 2000 and I am still here by the grace of God.

I got word from the nurse who is setting up my surgery that they are going to need to have extra blood available for my surgery. They will be doing a type/cross match on my blood the day before my surgery so they will have an ample supply on hand. So if you are interested in giving blood in your local AO, I encourage you to do so. There may also be people in your AO that need blood too and your blood may be a type that's hard to find so if you feel moved to do so, and your age and health permits, stop by your local blood donor clinic and donate now. The donor clinics in the DFW area that I've donated to in past years would be Red Cross, Carter Blood Care, or go to

You can also go to my FaceBook page and find my post regarding this issue and you will find several links to different types of blood donation clinics you may be interested in.
Feel free to use my user name here (Texas Sheepdawg) or my real name, (Robin McConnell) as a referral.
Thanx.
