Let the 450 eat

Postby Yotehunter243 » Sun Nov 13, 2016 5:12 pm

I'd been hunting this buck all year. Monday I finally found him bedded with some doe so figured it was his core area. I hunted him on all 4 sides of what I believed was his home base. Finally this morning the wind was right and I slipped in to what I guessed his bedroom. I wasn't in there 5 minutes and sent a 275gr TSX into him at 30 yards.

The one picture is a look of the wound cavity I hit him low and blew his heart completely apart (couldn't find it) and blew his chest out

No kidding. My buddy is a guide in Alaska and shoots the 180s in his 300 RSAUM and swears by then. He has shot dozens of moose and giant browns with them

Very Nice job Yote,

That tenner looks amazing! Extremely happy you finally dial him in. Can anyone say "back strapppppppppppppps", and a whole lot more.

If you want to post that in "the trophy wall" section I encourage you to do so, with a bit more info perhaps? Did he run.... any? if so how far, feel free to answer and repost in that section please.

First shot went thru his upper leg and into his lower chest. He stumbled about 25 yards and as soon as he stumbled a second I hit him again low again but quartering away. (Gun shoots low at 50 yds). With theach second shot he just crumpled. The first shot was all he needed but why do we shoot semi autos? Haha

That's one nice deer! Congrats! A lot of the deer up here are big bodied, but with little "Easter Basket" racks.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.
