Ruger Bushmaster 450BM 22"

Debating on getting either a Ruger 450 BM with 16" or 22" barrel. Randy's Hunting Center in Michigan has both. He also has the 22" in Stainless Steel.
Is there anyone on here who has the 22" barrel? If so, why did you go with the 22" barrel instead of the 16" barrel? Is there any advantage to a 22" barrel?
Thanks for any information you can give me.

No bolt action 450b here, but according to QuickLoad, for the 250 FTX, all else being the same, the difference in velocity would be 2118 fps (16") vs 2252 fps (22") using 297 powder. Several powders scaled similarly. "I like big butts, I cannot Lie." I also like rifle length barrels on rifles. Gets the muzzle blast further away. Just my personal preference.

I was there yesterday and went home with the 22" stainless. I like the longer barrel for a couple reasons. The extra length gives you more options for powders to get it burned before you get to the end of the barrel. And to be perfectly honest aesthetics was the other reason. I don't personally care for the look of the short barrel or the earth stock. Not knocking them as I have heard nothing but good about the shorty but it's just not what turns me on.

Make sure you look at the glass options there. For $40 more you can get a 3.5-10 VX-3i CDS over the VX-2. Well worth it in my opinion.

Good luck with whatever one you choose.
