Talked with Randy's in Bad Axe today. They are suppose to have the Gunsite Scout sometime next week. They are currently in transit to them.

Kind of funny that the dealers in the Thumb of Michigan are the first dealers to get them. I've called the dealers around Flint and Lansing and they have no idea when and if they will be getting any of the Gunsite models in. They haven't even received the American Ranch model yet.

I suspect that Randy lobbies on behalf of 450b enthusiasts. Ruger no doubt, wants the word out, so what better place to send some than Randy's? That's a serious chunk of change though. Who will be the first to find his wallet? Stay tuned...

I have to say that despite the appeal to me at least, of the longer barreled 450b Ruger American, that scout oozes thumper pheromones. ;)

I went up to Randy's on Saturday morning. I got there when they opened and parking lot had at least a dozen vehicles in it. Everyone buying the 450BMs.
I purchased a Gunsite Scout. I have to say the fit and finish on this gun is excellent, checkering is sharp and crisp.
I have a Nikon Monarch 3 scope 4-14x42 being delivered tomorrow. I did take it out today and shot it with open sights. Muzzle Brake is very effective. The recoil of this rifle is equal to AR Bushmaster. Accuracy appears to be good even with the open sights. I'll try and post a picture of my target from today.
I shot at 50 yards.Image
I was shooting my reloads, 38gr Lil Gun, 250FTX, Remington 7 1/2 SRP.
Overall, I would give this rifle an excellent rating.

Al,
That was the price I paid for it. I had called on Thurs and they said they had them coming in but didn't know when. He told me to call back on Friday and he would have a tracking number. When I called Friday afternoon he said they had come in that morning. He said they got 7 or 8 in. I had him put my name on it and I picked it up Sat. AM.
I didn't see anyone else buying the Gunsite when I was there. Everyone was buying the American Rifles. I had bought a 22 inch American with stainless barrel a couple of weeks ago, but when I saw the Scout I was intrigued by it. I figured I could sell the American and if not I just let my grandson or son in law use it.
Sunday my nephew bought it and the scope and rings I had mounted on it. I really didn't want to sell the scope but he wanted it because it was all set up and ready to go.
That rifle was a real tack driver. It did have more recoil because there was no muzzle break on it. The recoil on the Gunsite is comparable to the recoil on AR 15. The muzzle brake they have on the Gunsite works very well.
