Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore is running a special, $425 for the 16" version with muzzle brake. Ordered mine a couple of days ago and paid $10 more for it. :x

I will be ordering one the first of the week ....
Im hopeing that Underwood will be loading for this round .. Specifically for boltguns .. can have a bit more OAL .. and heavier ( longer) projectiles .. Id like to see a 350 gr hardcast ..
This round reminds me of 450 Marlin...

I got to shoot the gun today. First time out with it. 2 inch group at 100 yards. Noticed afterwards the stock is hitting on one side and I need to turn the trigger down a little. Will test some more and report findings.

The stocks on ALL the Americans I own contact the left side ever so slightly. I removed a small amount so when the stock is handled, twisted, ect - it does not contact the barrel.

If you are shooting off a bench, hang onto the hand guard like you would when normally shooting - forearm grasping hand resting on sandbag. The forearm can not be left just to do whatever on a light rifle like this. Also, DO NOT put your hand in contact with the barrel. It will effect the vertical grouping - significantly.

Factory ammo will shoot 1 inch or less. Reloads - depends on you.

I've been bugging my local dealer about getting these since January. He finally emailed me last week that his distributor has them now. I should be getting it soon! Now I'll have all 3 Ruger American Ranch rifles (.223, .300Blk, .450BM) - the whole family!
