Thank you for being my inspiration

I have been following all the information on the 450BM and was inspired to take action. The end result is a re-barreled Kimber. I had an unused 7mm-08 that allowed the factory 450 ammo to work through the magazine with ease. After a long wait, we received our 20 in. McGowan(sp) barrel with the 1-24 twist. The gun smith assembled and chambered it and had it Cerecoated (sp). My first trip to the range with factory Hornaday ammo left me impressed. It printed 1moa. It was all the board members information that lead to the barrel choice and it proved to be spot on. The fact the company was here in Montana was a plus for buying local..The next project will be reloading. Once again thank you all for the wealth of information, I could not be happier :D .

Welcome aboard Ron. Sorry for it taking so long to get you approved. I was out of town the past 8 days.

Welcome!
Definitely get into reloading, the hornady ammo is great for what it is, but there are better bullets available, and this cartridge has a lot of potential!

I look forward to starting to reload for the 450BM but it will have to wait. Our antelope hunting season starts this Saturday followed by deer season soooo I will be in Eastern Montana for a while. Shots can be a little long for the 450BM so it will stay home. This is my favorite time of the year.

You might be surprised at the range of the 450 especially for thin skinned game. You would be surprised at how much energy the 450 still has at distance. Chrono some loads for yourself. Reloading helps
