200 grain coated copper bullet

Postby Robert FL » Fri Jan 19, 2018 1:42 pm

I was browsing the web and saw this 200 grain .451 copper hollow point. It looks interesting to me but I'm not a reloader..

It has a nice look opened up.. One of my friends reloads 45-70 and .223 when I showed him my 450 AR I could tell he wants one.. He is retired so maybe if I bought the supplies he would load a few rounds for me??

Thanks for the heads up, I was able to get the last 100 count bag of these. They still have some 50 count bags.

Moose Ears, when you get them, could you measure the diameter, I’m curious what the true diameter is. Also let us know how the shoot.

Awesome, glad you got some to try out. I hope they work well for you. I was hoping to try reloading myself with some help..I was talking to my buddy that reloads 45-70..he said he recently sold all his reloading stuff and maybe all his 45-70s? But after looking at my 450 BM rifle and some of the holes in the hogs I have taken with it...now he wants to build an upper in 450 BM. So there is a chance I can start reloading, if I buy all the stuff needed. I already have a fairly accurate iGaging digital caliper and 2 sets of Mitutoyo dial calipers that I use building longbow and recurve bows, I measure my wood and fiberglass laminations down to 0.001. The Mitutoyo dials are pretty darn accurate and I hope they are suitable for reloading if I do start reloading.

i use a relatively cheap set of Forster (like $40).

The Mitutoyo dial calipers I have were made in Japan. I bought them used off of e-bay but they are tight and read my standards perfectly. I see that Hoot uses a Micrometer for reloading, I don't have one of those. I'm on the fence about reloading...I would like to shoot ammo that I made in my shop. I am looking at reloading equipment online :? ..makes me want to keep buying the Hornady 250s that shoot good thru my gun..

These are first quality bullets and measure exactly 0.4510. I wish they had more of the 100 count packs. I'll probably buy some of the 50 count packs.
