Long action 450 bushmaster

Postby Rizzle_da9 » Mon Apr 09, 2018 8:30 am

Hello, I have been searching and having trouble finding the answer to my question. I have been seeing most people using short actions for there bushmaster and a few using long actions, my question is what are the cons to using a long action vs short action? Reason I am asking is that I have a remington 700 in a .270 and was wanting to convert it to a bushmaster.

Long action 450 bushmaster

Hello, I have searched and have not been able to find a answer to this question. I see that most people are using short action for there bushmaster conversion, and a few usr long action. I am wanting to build a bushmaster out of my remington 700 .270 caliber and was wondering what the drawbacks are to using a long action? I will be using a mcgowen barrel and a magpul hunter stock and detachable clip.

using that centerfeed mag, you might be OK. Might be a issue with flatter point bullets.

Best way to tell is if you can get the stock first, then watch the bolt travel with a dummy round.
