I did not order any of them. I looked at Swift’s website a while back, and I’m pretty sure these are the revolver or pistol bullets. They show an example of one of the bullets expansion at different velocities. While I wasn’t impressed with the total expansions, I seem to remember the retained weight was very good. Essentially, I gathered the bullet itself won’t give impressive expansion, but because of the flatter frontal area after expansion and retained weight, the bullet should do very well in the damage and penetration department. So think very large animals for that bullet. Just my assumption, nothing to validate it.
The 275 Barnes is a great deal, and seems to do well loaded out long, even in the AR. I used the 275 TSX loaded out long on a black bear and a cow elk (smaller elk because it was a cull tag), and both times were very impressive. The 275 XPB is very similar, so it should also be a good performer.
