Tryin some 296...

Postby cwlongshot » Thu Aug 30, 2018 6:12 am

In my continuing search for accurate loadings...

Last night I built two ladders with 250 & 300G FTX using 296. I started two grains below posted max and stopped 1.5g above. BUT My OAL's are MUCH longer than 2.260... The 250 is 2.400 and the 300 is longer still. Neither is closer then .020 off lands. I choose 2.400 for the 250 simply cause it was a good number and still offered a sizable "neck" area.

Shooting these at my next opportunity... This weekend is pretty full so unsure if I'll be able to get out.

Is that a 250 FTX in the picture? Where'd you get one with a much needed cannelure?

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.
