Thanks for the link Hop. Did you get those Monolithic copper 250s dialed in?

Not yet. This whole retirement thing makes me wonder how I had time to work. I've actually gone hunting, spent some time with the grandkids in various locations, just got back from my first trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon parks. Wearing me out...

Good job Hop. I shoot hornady 300 jhp in my 45/70 Marlin SBL. Problem the rifle is a pig to carry and hunt with. I may have to swage some of these bullets down and try in my 450. Much better hunting gun.

Hornady sells a JHP for the 450b. Its the .452 300gr XTP Mag bullet. Much thicker walled than their non-Mag XTP. They also sell it in a 240gr. Al in Mi posted up an image of the Mag vs Regular, cross-sectioned bullets side by side just recently in This Thread.

It’s interesting that Hornady doesn’t include XTP Mag Bullets in their reloading data for the 450, but give data for the 300 Swift A Frame.

Just got back from a local gun show. A northern CO outfit has set up a 45-70 caliber AR in an AR-10 chassis... He was claiming
4000 ft lb of muzzle energy. Nice looking setup, I'm sure fully customizable, etc. The case is modified to feed properly.
