Might be old news, buddy Thom just passed it onto me.

There are a couple versions.

Al, It looks like a good value.

Mossberg did a lot of things right. Adjustable trigger, detachable mag, and lots of stippling, and around $400 MSRP. Hope it's a shooter!

I was at a LGS on Wednesday and got a chance to look at the Mossberg 450 Patriot Predator. This is the cheapest of the Mossberg 450s. IIRC the price on it was $329.99. No brake but barrel is thread with thread end cap. Rifle felt lighter compared to the Ruger RAR, 16.25" barrel. If it was me, I would spend the extra bucks and get the RAR. It might just be me, but the Mossberg just had a cheap feel to it.
I wished they would have had the version that had the Walnut stock and 20" barrel so I could have given that a look.

The only thing wrong is the 1-24 twist the one in 1-16 is better and a longer barrel would be nice.

Depends on what you're trying to do.
1:24 should stabilize up to a 400-450gr jacketed bullet going supersonic, IIRC. Should handle up to 300-350gr monolithic copper's, too. That's in the range of what most people shoot in this cartridge. If your going super heavy's and/or subs, then a tighter twist rate would be warranted.

Most importantly, was it your shooting shoulder!? :o
LOL, almost everyone I know has taken a spill this winter except me. I'm a marked man...
With almost no feeling below my shins in either leg, I'm the most careful walker you'll meet. However, steal my lunch and flee across the ice with it and I'll end up in the ER. I've never missed a lunch yet and this is no time to be testing me. ;)
