Found this place couple days ago. Those Maker bullets just look devastating.

I like the nose profile a lot better than gaping hollow points. When i see those wide mouths, I think wind drag. This caliber doesn't need any more help shedding velocity. The only question is whether those particular bullets shed petals too easily. Guess we need some poor man's ballistic gel (water jug) tests at both full muzzle as well as 100-150 yd velocities to see the difference in behavior. No doubt, they've already done the tests themselves. They know full well how word of mouth travels if they don't deliver performance.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.

Unless maker’s changed something, they are the same bullet for .458 Socom, just made to .4515 diameter. I haven’t tested the ones I have, but hope to as some point. One thing I’m going to take a guess at, is these will want to be run pretty fast. If you look at Black Butterfly’s website, they show a pic of an expanded bullet with their 100yd group. It’s fully expanded, but just barely (petals are almost straight out). They run them a little over 2000fps IIRC. With this company they are running them about 100fps faster and getting the petals to fold back a bit. So I am going to guess they probably won’t shed petals, unless ran extremely fast and hit something right out of the muzzle.

Also, they little bit I did play with them, they hit pressure before the 275 TSX in my Tromix barrel, so if you reload them, start lower or try a little bit slower powder.
